You're off to a great start, Bryant. I have one of David Lynch's student model dulcimers, too. The only thing "student" about it is the affordable price. But it's a great instrument that plays as well as instruments three times the price.

Sounds like a great start to me! Please don't feel that you "have" to strum in the strum hollow area all of the time. If you strum between the two larger sound holes, you will discover a totally different sound. I wish that someone would have told me that on my first day. Smile.gif Best of luck on your new dulcimer journey! Grin.gif
