Thank you! Yes its old growth redwood with walnut capped fingerboard. The headstock and tailpiece are also walnut. My son is a carpenter. On the job they dismantled an old water tank, and were going to take it to the dump. My son saved it.I am making more, and call them "RED" Grin.gif

Welcome, Jennifer, to this little corner of dulcimer heaven. "Haunting Quality." that's a good way to describe the sound and that once you play one you're "haunted" 'til you play one again. Hope you enjoy it here.

Hi Jennifer, and welcome to the wonderful world of the Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer. It's a good place to come, spend some time, learn about the dulcimer, and to meet some good people.
