Really interesting Robin. You explain things very well. By the way, Australian make Richard Troughear also makes his dulcimers with fiddle edges, which I agree does look lovely. The one I have, made by him, does sound quite different to my Ron Gibson ...http://dulcimers.com.au/

Robin, congratulations on your new dulcimer...it looks really nice and sounds great! I'd like to take the opportunity to thank you...it was largely from reading your posts and watching your videos both here and on ED about your pre-revival replica dulcimers that I decided to get the Will Singleton replica from John Knopf. I'm learning a lot from you.
