Noter style for hymn accompaniment

Hi all,

I've been having some skin issues with my fingertips so playing my chord/melody style is not available to me right now. I love using the noter - but I'm not real skilled with using it - and with what tunings - for accompaniment when we sing at the nursing home on Sundays. Are there tunings that work best for noter-style hymn accompaniment? We sing a lot of songs in the key of C as well (I do have a 1 1/2 fret on one dulcimer). I'm almost embarrassed to ask the questions because the answer should be so obvious, but coming from a 3-finger chord style, the "simple" style of a noter is baffling me! Thanks, Jill
