HotRS at the noter-drone campout

musician/member name:
Duration: 00:04:16
description:
HotRS played with friends. This was our first try, and started out a little rough. I think I was about a sixteenth note off the beat. It got better as we went along. Dulcimer tunings were DAd for chord/melody and EBA (DAA raised with a false nut under the bass and middle strings) for noter-drone. Guitars in Am chord forms with a capo on 2, all in an actual key of Bm. I used an A harmonica at the end after I got my act together. Played at Caesar Creek Soaring Club, Waynesville, OH.

There's always next year, Jan. We'll more than likely have it the same place. We all had a blast.

I can't believe I missed such a fun time! When I found this video tonight, I just had to get out my dulcimer and jam along with you all! And, yes, I discovered that I, too, needed a bit of refreshing on this one! Grin.gif

I liked the addition of the harmonica at the end. Thanks for posting this!

Patty, I really flew in the glider. Tom piloted flights for Jim, Mark, and I. . . An experience I'll never forget. Smile.gif

Nice videoSmile.gif So, did you all really fly in those gliders?

Tom, Mark and I love the video-- thanks to you and Jim & Bev for the pictures! The trick of taking off with me in the glider and landing with Mark in the glider is worthy of a television special.Grin.gif

Though I made mistakes right and left, it was very cool to play HofRS! (I imagine all noter/drone players noticed the use of a false nut at the first fret on my dulcimer. Jim used a false nut, too!)

Tom, nice work on the video. Did a nice job with the pics. The sunrise and mist pics were taken on Sunday morning.

Thanks! I forgot to credit the photos. Most are by either Jim or Bev Fawcett, plus a very few by me. I really liked our first frost of the year turning into a six foot deep fog bank at sunrise on Sunday. The pics of that are nice, but don't do the real thing justice.

Also, notice the special effects in the glider sequence. I took off with Robin, then landed with Mark! Grin.gif
