Thanks so much @Learning-Always!  That baritone is a McSpadden.  Hmm...I haven't had that one out in a while - thank you for reminding me! dulcimer

Hi Christine, I just listened again to your playing of "What a Friend We Have in Jesus". Thank you for sharing your rendition of this hymn. To me it is  a wonderful example how the music of the dulcimer can be therapeutic and soothe the soul. Thanks again for sharing this.

Thank you Gayle!  You were at Evart?  I was there all weekend.  I performed on Thursday evening and Bing Futch sat in on Cajon for one of my numbers.  That was quite the experience!   Crazy windy that night, the next night it was cold and rainy.  All the performers from the south commented on our wonderful Michigan summers.  I don't think they would have liked it as much if they were here last year when it was so stormy then hot and humid, right?  I'm sorry we didn't get the chance to meet in person.  Next year maybe?

Congrats on your new Gibson Helen!  I agree, the octave can at times be counter productive.  I've tried parking it but that seems to get in my way when anchoring the 4th finger, plus it rattles.  So I just removed it. (the string - not the finger.  Haha!)  It can always be put back if need be, right?

I think this is the loveliest version I've ever heard of this one - it added a measure of peace to an already peaceful day. Thank you for posting.

Thanks Helen...yes, I play it as a 5 string.  I removed the octave on the bass. While I like the octave on some songs, for the most part I found that it competed too much with the bass for my taste.  Especially on the Blues - and as I am sure you can relate, that would never do!  coool

Thanks so much Dusty!  I use Fishman Loudbox Artist.  I really like it's warmth.  What do you use?

Beautiful playing, lots of emotion here. Nice job!

Are you going through the Fishman or the Roland or something else?  Great bass response.
