am looking for someone in your area who gives mountain dulcimer lessons. If you know of anyone perhaps you could give me a name & a phone #. Thanks much
Having just purchased a Bill Berg elliptical dulcimer, I can say that the tone is wonderful. His company is Mountain Made Music out of Nashville, Indiana. His phone # is on the website, so if you call him and tell him what you're looking for, I'm sure he can help. These photos show you what the walnut elliptical would look like and with a price under $200, it would be a great second dulcimer for you.

Welcome to this lively group of dulcimer enthusiasts! I'm from Michigan--lived in Ypsi and Midland--but moved to Kentucky in the 60's...where the mountain dulcimer is the state musical instrument! I looked up your town on the map and thought, "Yikes! Isn't that the path of the historic 1953 Flint tornado?" We were heading south from Midland that day, going to Detroit, and got to Flint shortly after it happened. Anyway, I'm glad you found our group and, yes, ask all the questions you want--you will get back plenty of mixed opinions on any given subject. Take what's helpful and disregard the rest...at least for the time being. Many have been known to change their opinions over the years!
