Hi everyone I am Dulcie Mer. An artist of portraiture. I have Polish ancestry and live at home with my mom and hubby. I am 60 now and have always wanted to play and learn the dulcimer. In the early years I was a stenographer. Have been retired a long time and have filled my life with study mainly arts and crafts.I love cats and dogs but only have two cats left now. Love cooking, walking in bush, flowers, growing herbs. I live in Perth Western Australia in a suburb called Joondanna.

Hi friends plodding along with my new McSpadden dulcimer I got through a Auctioneer in America. As a beginner a better instrument is a bonus it makes you really focus at being a good player anyway that's what I believe. I have a beginner's Applecreek too but the sound is different. I have learned a few songs now with Joyce Ochs beginners book it's really good and now am onto chords
Thankyou so much Martha great to be part of our dulcimer group. I am beginning and absolutely love my dulcimer

Hi to all my dulcimer community way a way from Western Australia in a leafy suburb called Joondanna.
Hi Strumelia thankyou for the welcome. I looked at your favourite song Shady Grove very lovely folk song sung by various people, also on the same ytube page was a link on how to make mountain dulcimers but he didnt know how to play it after he made it. I would love making my own the wood bending and frets would be the hardest to do. Lovely to be part of our dulcimer community I am enjoying it a lot.
Lots to explore and enjoy here DM- hope you like it as much as we do!
