The Dulcimer Works, according to the Revels Music site, made around 1000 dulcimers from 1968 to 1975. This is an early example in truly amazing condition. This was a donation to PBS Chanel 28, from McCabes Music, and apparently not taken out of the box afterward.

A largish California instrument, body depth 1 7/8”, 27 3/4” VSL. No 6 1/2 fret.Unlike the majority of early small production dulcimers, this is all solid wood, no laminates. One piece top of what looks like Spruce, one piece back of striking California Walnut. Fiddle edges. 100% original except  StewMac 5 Star Planet tuners with grained ivoroid buttons. It seems that all of the original plastic tuners have failed. When I got this they dIdn’t work at all. Bright sound, easy action.

Will ship with original box inside larger. Let me know if you have any questions.

$325 plus shipping
