I have played the dulcimer on and off for many years. I live in the northwest, where it's difficult to find fellow dulcimer players. I am grateful for FOTMD. It's nice being inspired again. I recently introduced a small group of elementary school kids to the mountain dulcimer. I had to beg, borrow, and MAKE a dulcimer in order to have enough for the group. Great experience.

Hi Heather, I enjoyed your rendition of Amazing Grace. I noted with interest your desire to teach the dulcimer to some young people. I hope to do the same to a group this summer. How didthat turn out? My selection of songs will be: Hot Cross Buns,Mary Had a Little Lamb, Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, Skip to My Lour, and Bile Them Cabbage Down. For some reason I haven't been able to follow that discussion.

Welcome Heather, you'll find lots of videos of folks that will inspire you to move along. I am from Vermont, Margaret MacArthur's area but am new to this all. Look forward to seeing how excited you will be by all this here.

Welcome, Heather, to this little corner of dulcimer heaven. Yeah, we all need some sort of inspiration some time. This is a good place to get it, or at least it has been for me. Hope you enjoy it here.

Hi Heather, and welcome to the wonderful world of the Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer. It's a good place to come, spend some time, learn about the dulcimer, and to meet some good people. I met and took a session with Margaret MacArthur at a festival that used to be held in Bar Harbor, Maine. She was a delight.
