Another question, please:
I was playing a Dulciborn today and the action up toward the bridge seems high. On the 17th fret where luthiers guidelines say - the string height should be 1/8" this one is a bit more than 1/16" higher than 1/8". Another way, around 14-15 fret -I placed just 1 quarter on my dulcimer & the dulciborn, same location took 2 quarters plus extra space.
Does your dulciborn have notches in the bridge or should this one, or should it be lowered by sanding?
Thank you John. I am just getting home so it seems late to try you now, I will try you in the morning.
I watched a video of you playing the dulciborn. Could you tell me a little about it, if you like it, the action - ease of playing the strings & sound. Would this be a good dulcimer for someone not long at playing the dulcimer/
