Hey Julie, my favorite dulcimer builder is David McKinney of Modern Mountain Dulcimers. He does not really sell them anymore himself but uses John Hawk, a very good friend of mine, as his salesman. You can reach John at:  hawkmann51@netscape.net for info on his dulcimers. I think if you check around that Modern Mountain dulcimers are top notch! here is a link to the website: http://www.modernmountaindulcimer.com/Modern_Mountain_Dulcimer/HOME.html

I highly recommend MMD!!!

Thank you so much Julie. I'm not sure if it was more fun making it or playing it, but it's given me many hours of enjoyment. Tim

Hi Julie, and welcome to the wonderful world of the Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer. It's a good place to come, spend some time, learn about the dulcimer, and to meet some good people.

Welcome, Julie, to this little corner of dulcimer heaven. For such a "simple" instrument there is a lot to learn. I think I'm still learning something about every time I pick one up! Hope you enjoy it here.
