Hey Kimball, welcome aboard. Glad ya found us.
Welcome, Kimball, to this little corner of dulcimer heaven. I lived on the Eastern Shore of MD for many years and was the only dulcimist I knew anything about. Had I interaction with other players, I might not have laid it down for many years before recently taking it up again. There used to be a group in Anne Arundel County. I don't know its status now though. Hope you enjoy it here.
Welcome Kimball. Good to see you here on FOTMD. We look forward to your participation. Best wishes.
Welcome to FOTMD Kimball. It's good to have you aboard.
"The dulcimer sings a sweet song."
Hi Kimball, and welcome to the wonderful world of the Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer. It's a good place to come, spend some time, learn about the dulcimer, and to meet some good people. Yes, it is possible to learn to play the dulcimer, even with no prior musical experience.
Welcome Kimball. I have a student who tried guitar, tried uke, never really got anywhere. She's been playing dulcimer tuned DAA, playing melody with noter or a finger on the first string, loads of songs and hymns after 2 months, loads of confidence. You keep it simple at first, you'll thrive.
Howdy and welcome to FOTMD!
