Mark Gilston plays an extremely well known Mexican folk song on the mountain dulcimer in honor of Cinco de Mayo.

Mark you show us the beauty of this song and now we can ignore the sad ads of the past.
It is a beautiful song and I have always like it, it is special when you play it.
Mark I don't watch TV either.
In case you're interested, Mark: .
As I said, for those of us who grew up with the ad in the 1960s and 1970s, this classic norteño song will be forever linked in our minds to those stupid and racist Frito corn chip ads. I was in San Diego last weekend and had dinner in a nice Mexican restaurant in Del Mar where a mariachi band walked through the place performing. They played this tune and I was oh so fearful that someone was going to start to sing the Frito bandito song.
I am pleased to say that due to my almost total avoidance of ads and commercial television I have no recollection or awareness of that particular (obviously unpleasant) pop-culture reference.
Indeed. My appreciation of this song has been forever poisoned by that stupid (and oh so racist) ad from the 70s.
The Frito Bandito!
