Hey Zachary, what part of PA do you live? I'm from around Irwin...45 mins S/E of Pittsburgh.

Hi Zachary;

I know you're gonna love it here. Nice folks. Spend all the time you can poking around the boards and discussions. Strumelia has some SUPER tutorials including vids that are invaluable to everyone, but especially anyone just starting out. Be sure and check out her blog, it helped me so much. (still does)

Have fun!

Hi Zachary, and welcome to the world of the Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer. It's a good place to come, spend some time, learn about the dulcimer, and to meet some good people.

Welcome to FOTMD, Zachary. I also played the baritone briefly; I think I was in fifth grade. I had played the trumpet but when our band director learned that I could read bass clef, she asked me if I'd switch to baritone. Now the only baritone I play is a baritone dulcimer! Poke around this site and ask any questions that arise.
