Home Recording software?

Hello All, I was wondering if you might have a suggestion as to which software/program works well with Win 7. There's only a handful of options to Garage Band for us MS users and it's hard to tell just how easy any of them are to use. I'm a beginner/new to the home recording idea but would like something with handy features...looper included.
