Howard Rugg shortscale dulcimer

Howard Rugg, who made Folkroots and CapriTaurus dulcimers from the late 1960's to 1989, is making dulcimers again! The dulcimer on the right is a 20" scale dulcimer he's making for my wife. The top is old redwood from old watertank. The side and back is old stock walnut. The headstock is burl redwood. The binding is maple and redwood. It's going to be a very beautiful dulcimer. He making another one just like it. I have a feeling it's going to get snatched up really fast. The one on the left is a 22" scale dulcimer he made in the early 80's. the body is all redwood, tuned to G and has a really nice sound.
