Welcome Nanners to Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer. So glad to hear that you are interested in learning to play the mountain dulcimer. The dulcimer has such a sweet voice. Plus there is a rich history behind this instrument that historians tell us was developed in the United States. Look around, ask questions, post comments. Listen to the music and the videos. This group is awesome and always willing to help other, newbies or seasoned players. Best wishes on your dulcimer journey.
Hi Nanners, and welcome to the wonderful world of the Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer. It's a good place to come, spend some time, learn about the dulcimer, and to meet some good people.
Well, thanks so much for the welcome... I live in Austin (TX) and I've been playing fiddle for a little over ten years. Hubby and i lead a bluegrass/folk jam on Tuesday nights and go to a few old time jams around town, so I know quite a few fiddle tunes... on the fiddle, anyway. Now I just need to figure out how to play this thing! It makes such a lovely sound, and I'm so very excited about learning an new instrument.
Hey Nanners, welcome aboard. Glad ya found us.
