I built my first mountain dulcimer in one of Keith Young's classes at the Augusta Heritage Arts Workshops in the 1980's.  The following summer, he and I took Kevin Enoch's "Inlay and Engraving" class together.  Later, Keith asked me to help him teach the Augusta class, which I did for a couple years.  It was a great honor to work with Keith.  I have the utmost respect for his skill, creativity, work ethic, and friendship.  I built a few dulcimers over the ensuing years.  Have probably built around 10 total.  Recently a friend at work indicated a desire to have one, so I'm in the process of building another hourglass-bodied MD at this time (2017).

Hi Ez, and welcome to the wonderful world of the Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer.  It's a good place to come, spend some time, learn about the dulcimer, and to meet some good people.

Ben
