Recording Music

So I decided that it's time to take a deep breath and record my playing, even if only to give myself feedback.Thing is, I know nothing about this.I have a Mac (no Mac vs PC debates, please). Can anyone recommend a relatively inexpensive recording microphone or video recording device?Any tips on recording?
