McSpadden is a solid choice that you'll get a lot of enjoyment out of. I suggest attending dulcimer festivals and taking condensed classes. Dave Haas and Stephen Seifert along with others do a three day half session that will help smooth your play and progress where you want that journey to take you.

Frank, your new McSpadden looks beautiful, but then I'm partial to all walnut dulcimers.

Welcome to FOTMD, Frank. Playing dulcimer is a lot of fun. I'm glad that you found us here and we will help you in any way we can. Feel free to ask questions. We may have some good answers for you. I look forward to your participation here. Enjoy that new McSpadden dulcimer.
