Description:

I was feeling a little “Jazzy” one day about 10 years ago and wrote this. I’ve never performed it anywhere and was something I played for myself but playing around with recording techniques today I wanted to share it as it shows a little different side of me and the dulcimer. I hope you enjoy it!

That's lovely.Sounds like you're using a lot of major sevenths, ninths, sixths.Such a cool sound.Easily achieved on the dulcimer in D-a-d....move it up and down.Thumb on top 2 strings,3rd finger on the bass 2 frets  down ..I've been working on "Home sweet home"in that kind of way.Surprising how easy it is!.

Thank you! The tuning I used is from an old Mel Bay Dulcimer cord book. cg  g  C

It was labeled as a Jazz tuning. Most of the fingering is what some would call a “L” where the thumb frets the two close together melody strings and the middle and index fingers fret the middle and bass strings.

L’s and slants work great with this tuning. However, I don’t use them enough to be proficient
