Ok, I’m trying to join in with a couple of friends-one plays the harp and the other plays the flute. I’ll sound like an idiot, but my question is how do I figure out how to tune so I can play with them? If it’s a song tuned to A do I put a capo on the 4th fret and then use my own music? I have no idea how to do this. Any time I’ve played with other instruments they’ve always changed to D. I went to be able to tune to them!!
Hi Keller, and welcome to the wonderful world of the Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer. It's a good place to come, spend some time, learn about the dulcimer, and to meet some good people.
