More on the Anne Grimes book
The Anne Grimes book will soon be available, in mid-July, I believe. I can't wait to get my copy.
Today I received a surprise package in the mail from Anne's daughter, Jennifer, and what a wonderful surprise it was! She sent some copies of my dad's correspondence with Anne..............letters that my dad wrote in '55, '56, and '57. They were a real treat to read.
Jennifer also enclosed some photo's of dad and one of me and dad at Anne's house when I was probably in 1st or 2nd grade. The originals are all in the Library of Congress!
Anyway, I found a very funny statement by dad and I thought I would quote it here for you.
Kenneth Ward wrote to Anne Grimes, Feb. 5, 1956: "This winter I took some renewed interest in my "Dulcerine" as I call it and did some repair work. I felt unable to do the work and then it occurred to me that I made it and therefore should be able to fix it!"
This is just priceless to me! haha
Maybe I will put up a few more of his quotes as I can. Some of them are so funny.
Thanks,
Dulcerina
