Chording/fretting with a hand tremor

I have a Familial Benign Essential Tremor, so I shake just a tiny bit all the time. Because I'm right handed my left had is a little less steady, especially my thumb. I'm finding it quite a challenge to fret chords using the thumb as it just won't hold still! I'm currently experimenting with tilting the instrument ala Steven Seifert and that seems to help some. Does anyone else have a tremor and how do you deal with difficulties?
