Welcome to the site, 'Morning has Broken' is a beautiful tune played on the dulcimer. Enjoy your dulcimer journey.

Thanks Richard! An article there on Blogspot also identified my "lazy fingers" problem that I didn't know I had but which explains a lot of things I'd been experiencing. Lots of good information on that blog. I'll practice the noter technique.

Sierron,

I don't know if you have learned enough yet about the dulcimer to know that there are several ways to play it. I won't go into all of them here. However if you have an interest in the way the dulcimer was played in the early to mid 20th century with what we call a more traditional sound, you may want to check out a blog at

https://dulcimer-noter-drone.blogspot.com/

It is an awesome introduction to the more traditional way of playing the dulcimer.  A number of members here play the more traditional way.

Ken H. on this site has an article titled "Get Noterized" and another titled "I Just Got a Dulcimer--Now What?"

"Get Noterized:  is  at

"I Just Got a Dulcimer.."  can be found here:  http://www.everythingdulcimer.com/files/articles/64/dulcimer_beginners_guide_hulme.pdf

Best Wishes
