As taught on Dulcimer School, this is played with a noter (butt end of a bamboo chopstick) and pick in Ddd tuning. For what it's worth, I think playing with a noter is harder than finger dancing.

Sounds nice. As an old folk singer from the 60s I heard this song sung by Tony Rubino at the Y-Not Coffee House in Worcester Mass. He sung it faster and more upbeat - no idea how this old song was done originally though, and don't know who Tony learned it from.
