I played noter drone mountain dulcimer for a number of years, and still enjoy playing noter drone style on dulcimers and zithers, but mainly old Welsh tunes now. I play bluegrass guitar, dobro and banjo. And I sing with a Welsh MVC.

Hi
Checking how you are, have not seen you on fotmd in awhile and hope you are doing well
m
Robin, if someone in the UK can't share some with you, I can buy them easily here and mail them whatever speed you choose.
Great Robin, thanks! Also... if you go to the Followers TAB on your profile page here, you'll see a whole bunch of people who have applied to be your Follower... but you still need to approve them:
https://fotmd.com/robin-clark/follow
They can't PM you until you approve them. In your account settings, there is also a setting where followers are automatically approved if you want that, rather than 'pending' until you actually approve them.
I notice you have ALL your site notifications turned OFF. Do you really want things set that way? it means you will not be notified when someone tries to Follow you, or when someone sends you a private message, or when someone comments on one of your items to ask a question, ...just to name a few. You may want to go through your Notifications settings to tailor them ? They are found in your Account settings in the Notifications Tab:
https://fotmd.com/user/notifications/profile_id=158/user_id=157
Hi Robin,
You need to go to your Followers page in order to approve a bunch of pending followers. Someone wrote me they were waiting on 'pending' for a long time. Go here:

And I still show pending as to the following you.

Hi Robin, please see my INBOX note to you. Thanks! :)
In the preface to the second edition of Ralph Lee Smith's The Story of the Dulcimer, Ron Ewing is quoted as saying that he was sending bunch of capos "to a shop in Wales." That must be you, correct?
I know you and Jeni & Billy sounded wonderful, Robin-- I'm a fan of the music of all of y'all!
Glad to have you as a friend, Robin.
Hello Robin!
I haven't dulcimer yet, but while I'm looking for instrument, I gather information about instruments, their construction, different styles of playing etc. Thank you very much for your useful info on old-style. I like old style very much and I'll learn it
Hi Robin,
I joined the noter/drone group a while back but hadn't done anything about it. The weather has been cold and windy - a perfect excuse to stay in and play music. So today for the first time, I got out the dulcimer my dad made. I tuned it to DAA and started playing around with the noter. Then I went to the page you created for "Holding and Moving the noter". Thank you SO much! the video and explanations helped me a lot! I am truly excited about learning to play noter/drone! I know there is a lot of great information to explore - but your's was the first one I went to, and it helped me a lot!
Thank you again!
Keep strumming and smiling!
Cindy
Hey, Robin--Thank you for your most generous comments about Dance of the Little Dog! Though we will be heading out soon, I will post a thread about Little Dog before my head hits the pillow tonight. (Mostly, I work from an iPad these days but will get on the old laptop this evening.) I'm happy it sounds as though we were outdoors when we played. Actually, It was a bit chilly outside but I wanted to capture birdsong on the recording so opened the nearby window a bit. Again, thank you for the very kind comments!
Thanks Robin. I have a new Doug Berch dulcimer coming that will have a hard case as its home. Will do something for straps....have installed D rings and a shoulder strap on a previous hard case that I had. I wondered what ideas you had. I have a soft case available for it too, but like the idea of a hard case, because of the $ I will have invested into it. Thanks for the ideas.
Robin,
This morning I was in the kitchen cooking up a skillet breakfast for the family and your CD was on the player. I started flatfooting around the kitchen much to the entertainment of the folks here....turned into a fun morning of music and dancing. Just thought I'd let you know how the music you created is being thoroughly enjoyed over here in the mountains of NC.
PS: I often put on your CD to clog or flatfoot to when I need a nice workout.....like now after eating all the holiday goodies at my house! :)
Hello Robin, if you get a chance Robin you might check out a small recording system I've been looking at on the internet. It's the Tascam DD-008 8-Track Digital Portostudio. You may have come across this system or know of better. That particular one can be bought on Amazon for roughly 220 dollars (I think). Looking for something independent of the laptop. Audacity is just not working for me. My recording is not doing any justice to the sound of my dulcimers. Would like a simple system where I could double track myself or bring in another instrument. Hope I'm not putting you to, too much trouble. Thank you Val.
Incredible playing as usual Robin, your Christmas offering included. Your instruments sound so good.
