What makes the Galax dulcimer so appealing?

"I'd like to know what makes the Galax so appealing? I listened to the music of the Galax and it sounded just like a regular MD. Is it easier to play than a MD, more versitile,is it the sound or the uniqueness (probably spelled wrong) of the instrument?"
