Ladies and gentleman, this is the lovely and amazingly talented Sue Turner. She writes the most incredible songs and makes angel singing sound like a garbage disposal!
I met Sue at the Menucha Dulcimer Festival a couple of weeks ago. We have an open mic there and Sue approached me and asked if I would accompany her for a song she wrote. I knew she was fairly new to mountain dulcimer and I was delighted to be her first collaborator.
We went to a side room and practiced for maybe 30-40 minutes. I was stunned by her music: her lyrics are magical, her melodies melt the heart like butter, and her voice definitely does NOT sound like a garbage disposal!
We nailed it at the open mic and we were both very excited. She gave me her card and said she would love to collaborate and when I got home, I discovered this:
The Sue Turner Band Prepare yourself: like a Lays potato chip, you won't be able to listen to just one of her songs!
Sue is joining Ariane and me in an "international collaboration" - Germany, Canada, and the US - and I could not be more excited!
Sue, welcome to the most amazing musical community. You're gonna LOVE it!
Hi Sue, and welcome to the wonderful world of the Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer. It's a good place to come, spend some time, learn about the dulcimer, and to meet some good people.
Welcome to you Sue. So glad you joined. Wishing you the best in reviving the dulcimer in western Canada. This is a great group of people to be connected with who love the dulcimer and its sweet song.
