Hi David, and welcome to the wonderful world of the Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer.  It's a good place to come, spend some time, learn about the dulcimer, and to meet some good people.

Welcome David Hines to Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer. Glad you joined. This is a good place to learn and to connect with other players of the mountain dulcimer.  Best wishes on your dulcimer journey.

Dear Ken

Thank you for your Welcome email. I see you make both MD's and HD's etc, what a great skill. When I retired six years ago I had a HD made for me here in the UK as a 'retirement challenge' and a couple of years ago purchased a MD too.

Best wishes

David

Rob

Thank you very much for the welcome email. I found out about the 'fotmd' site after it was mentioned by 'Dulcibard' on an introduction to fingerpicking video on You Tube, where he was playing a very nice tune by Randy Wilkinson called "Blow The Candles Out". Kind regards,

David

Welcome, David, to this little corner of dulcimer heaven.  Fingerpickin' is indeed the way to go and a great UK dulcimer tradition!  Hope you enjoy it here.
