Hi Deborah, and welcome to the wonderful world ofthe Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer.  It's a good place to come, spend some time, learn about the dulcimer, and to meet some good people.

Welcome to FOTMD Deborah. There are many resources to check on a song's copyright which is really only something you need to know if you are planning a use that song in a book of tabs or newsletter. If you are recording the song, you need a mechanical license for which you pay a fee. Much of this has been discussed here. Just do a search for the information you want. If you can't find it, ask a question.
