Thank you all for the very warm welcome!  I've been doing research on what type of dulcimer to buy.  I keep thinking I have it all figured out, and then come up with even more questions.  To keep it simple - as someone who is new to playing any kind of instrument, would you recommend a 3 or 4 string dulcimer?  Also, are there tuning peg styles that are best for a beginner?  I don't want to have to spend a lot of time tuning the instrument or fighting to restring it if necessary.

Hi Egrigg, and welcome to the wonderful world of the Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer.  It's a good place to come, spend some time, learn about the dulcimer, and to meet some good people.

Ben
