I met David McKinney in 2016 and even took a workshop from him. This was among his highest-end dulcimers, "heirloom quality" as he put it. It is a spectacular instrument visually and sonically with a long warm sustain. Walnut body, redwood top, ebony fretboard and accents. This is a gem among dulcimers. If you are unfamiliar with double-back dulcimers, the instrument's back is suspended by a second back, allowing it to vibrate without directly contacting your lap, giving it a louder and longer sustain. I play many stringed instruments but because this lacked a traditional neck I never really bonded with it. Its been kept in its gigbag in a non-smoker house, never gigged and really only played a few times. More pics available upon request. This is a rare bird considering David is no longer making dulcimers. $600
