musician/member name: Music
Duration: 00:03:33
description:
This is an 18th-century pipe march, played on my soprano mountain dulcimer. Those cat sillhouettes in the lower bout sold me on the dulcimer. It is tuned AEA. I forgot to repeat the B part, so I stayed with that arrangement.

Great tune--reminds me of The Parting Glass!  Who made this great little soprano dulcimer?

Yes, it is almost The Parting Glass. Songwriters often used existing tunes, Robert Burns of Scotland being one of the best examples. I don't know if that was the case with this tune/song, but it is clear they are the same melody.

Jim Fox / Prussia Valley Dulcimers made the instrument: http://prussiavalley.com/catalog/index.php?manufacturers_id=111.
