This is my third build made a chromatic for my SIL. This one has a cherry front, back and peghead with fiddleback maple sides and a padauk fretboard. I finished it with clear shellac. The cherry has some birdseye in it.
Nice job. . I built three with Grover friction pegs, but found they tune better when I replaced the slot screws with socket head screws. Cherry makes a great soundboard. I built a chromatic 8 years ago but found it a bit befuddling, so converted it back to diatonic. I think if I make another I'll string it reverse like guitar or banjo... Robert.
That's just lovely!
I bet some Position Dots would make playing it easier
I replaced the slot heads because the slots wear easily. I use 6-32 socket head cap screws. They never failed me. Robert.
I found the original screws weren't quite long enough. I replaced them with a screw about an 1/8" longer.

They are Grover friction tuners from StewMac.
