Hi Judi, While I may have the wrong song that you are looking for information for, I will offer this which is found in the Church Hymnal: I often refer to it as Ode to Joy, but it was listed as Hymn to Joy; original music of Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827) with words/lyrics by Henry Van Dyke (1852-1933) and listed as adapted by Edward Hodges (1796-1867).
