Hi Judi, While I may have the wrong song that you are looking for information for, I will offer this which is found in the Church Hymnal: I often refer to it as Ode to Joy, but it was listed as Hymn to Joy; original music of Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827) with words/lyrics by Henry Van Dyke (1852-1933) and listed as adapted by Edward Hodges (1796-1867).  I hope that helps.

Hi Judi, and welcome to the wonderful world of the Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer.  It's a good place to come, spend some time, learn about the dulcimer, and to meet some good people.

Glad you joined Judiowens. Welcome to Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer. I have heard those words in Ode to Joy but I do not recall ever seeing them in a printed score. Best wishes for you upcoming marriage.

Judi I still haven't been able to find the exact lyrics you mention. Here is a like to Billy Bragg - Ode to Joy . Listen to it and see if that is what you are trying to find. In the meantime I'll keep looking.

Welcome to FOTMD, Judi. Best wishes as you plan your wedding. Do you know who sang Ode to Joy using those lyrics? They sound familiar to me, but I've been unable to find a source for them. I'll continue looking. Are you a dulcimer player or will you be using dulcimer music at your wedding?
