Hi Katahdin, and welcome to the wonderful world of the Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer.  It's a good place to come, spend some time, learn about the dulcimer, and to meet some good people.

Ben

Oh, and with a name like Katahdin, you must be somewhere near me!  Let's connect and get together!

Ben - Thank you for the warm welcome.  I hope to learn here from you and others.  Yes, I am in Clifton now (but originally was a Jayhawk, then went moving around and ended up here a couple of decades ago, so don’t be surprised if I have an odd accent).  Would be nice to meet up, perhaps after the holidays.  Again, thank you.  Jim Waters

Welcome to FOTMD, Katahdin. With a handle like yours, you had to be from Maine. It's good to have you aboard. Yes, Woody Guthrie borrowed the tune from Wildwood Flower for The Sinking of the Rueben James. If I recall correctly he had a verse or verses where he did name all of those lost in that disaster. This is a great place to begin you dulcimer journey. Let us know if we can help you along in any way.

Welcome Katahdin to Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer. So glad to have you. There is a lot of information here. Look around and see what is here. Be sure to ask questions if you have them. We are here to support each other.
