Karen Mueller was totally responsible for officially introducing me to the mountain dulcimer!
My dad & I played music together - he played banjo and I played guitar. Dad also loved to work with wood. He had built 3 dulcimers over the years, but we never really figured out how wonderful these instruments were. After my dad passed away, I stopped playing music completely for 5 years.
Then, I heard that Karen was teaching a workshop in Union Mills, Indiana. I had one of the dulcimers that my dad had built. I thought - maybe I can do this! Maybe I can play music again.
This was the beginning of a love affair that certainly will be with me all of my days!
In fact, my brother gave me a shirt for my birthday this year that says.....Once upon a time I picked up a dulcimer, the rest is history!
I would like to thank Karen for this wonderful gift!
