Welcome Letitgolifestyle to Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer. Sounds like a wonderful collection of dulcimers in which some of the members here may be interested. Best wishes.
Hi there. We're an estate sale company that has an estate with a collection of 50 mountain dulcimers from various makers around the country. We're new to the group and joined this group on the suggestion of a dulcimer-maker that we spoke to about this large dulcimer collection we have been hired to sell. We just put most of them for sale online in case anyone wants to browse and bid:
They're all in brand-new condition and in cases. In some cases, we know the maker, while in some cases, we don't. If you identify one that we have not indicated a maker, feel free to share that info and we'll update that description. Many are truly one-of-a-kind, as this collector collected exotic woods and in many instances had the dulcimer maker use wood from his own collection rather than from their stock. It's our understanding that this large collection was amassed from the late 80s through the early 2000s.
We also have a large collection of super-dried exotic wood stock that will also be for sale soon in case any makers here on the forum are interested.
Feel free to contact us through the forum or directly (text is preferred for initial contact):
Welcome to FOTMD, LetitGoLifestyle. I'm sure you will find plenty of folks here interested in your dulcimers. We can also answer any questions you have about particular instruments or dulcimers in general.
