Welcome Maude to Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer. Glad you joined. So sorry about your husband's stroke. I am so hoping you will be able to find some way for him to play using just the one hand. Or maybe it come to be a joint effort with another person. Best wishes on your dulcimer quest.
Hi Maude, and welcome to the wonderful world of the Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer. It's a good place to come, spend some time, learn about the dulcimer, and to meet some good people.
Welcome to FOTMD, Maude. It is good to have you aboard. As to your question, it does take two hands to play the dulcimer. I can't see how you would be able to strum and press down the frets at the same time. Maybe someone else will have a suggestion. It is probably better to ask the question in one of the forums to have more people see your question.
