Hi Picker, and welcome to the wonderful world of the Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer. It's a good place to come, spend some time, learn about the dulcimer, and to meet some good people.
Glad you joined, MerlinPicker101. Welcome to Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer. There is all sorts of information here about the mountain dulcimer. Let us know if you have questions.
Welcome to FOTMD, MerlinPicker101. It's good to have you aboard. Yes, the Merlin is not a mandolin and it isn't a dulcimer either. What it does have in common with the mountain dulcimer is a diatonic fret board. There are folks here who play them. Some call them stick dulcimers; again a misnomer. Do a search for Merlin and I'm sure you will find some information. If you have any questions, just ask. Someone here will have an answer for you.
