Born and raised in the Southern Berkshires, a stones throw from the Appalachian Trail. Music has always been a part of my life - Dad has been a drummer for several local bands, Mom has sung in church choirs and other venues. Learned saxophone and trombone through high school, switching from classical instruments to folk after many years, currently fool around on penny whistle and stick dulcimer, currently restoring a 20+ year old set of Irish bagpipes which I hope to learn at some point. There's also a family fiddle that I've been meaning to pick up for some time, but life and other projects keep getting in the way. Looking forward to building my first mountain dulcimer for accompaniment for the folk songs I already know. Other than that, we'll see where life takes me next.
