Hang in there. I played or attempted to play for several years. I decided to learn songs that I knew the tune of already and not to focus on a song I had never heard. Once I did that and practiced regularly, now I can almost anticipate where the next note will be when I play a song for the first time. Fortunately for me I found a group to play with though it is 50 miles away. It has been worth it to keep me focused. Best wishes.
Welcome Robert to Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer from a fellow North Carolinian. Glad you joined. This is a wonderful place to hang out, learn a lot and meet some wonderful dulcimer friends. Best wishes on your dulcimer journey.
Hi Robert, and welcome to the wonderful world of the Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer. It's a good place to come, spend some time, learn about the dulcimer, and to meet some good people.
Welcome, Robert, to this little corner of dulcimer heaven. Sure you can learn other styles. First thing I'd suggest as add some chords to songs you know in DAA. Hope you enjoy it here.
