"Middletown dulcimer" sneak preview!
This is what I'm working on now in my shop. If you look at Anne Grimes' book "Stories From The Anne Grimes Collection of American Folk Music", you'll find a few photos of her playing (upside down!) an unusual-shaped dulcimer. It was found in Middletown, Ohio, and has a single bout in the center, and what I call an "Art Deco waterfall" tailpiece. The final finish still needs to be applied to it, then I can complete the assembly and find out what it sounds like. Yes, those are cello pegs in the peghead!
