Wood cupping

I recently purchased a Folkcraft hourglass kit from 1992. The matching grain two pieces of wood for the top have developed a cup to them. I put them on my metal table saw top and put several ceramic tiles on them and hope they will flatten out.

Any suggestions on a better method or course to take?
