Recycled Dresser Drawer
Here's a "scrap" dulcimer I built when I lived on Kwajalein Atoll from 2005-2007. Wood of almost any kind was very scarce out there 6000 miles from everywhere! This came from a mahogany dresser than was at least 50 years old - old post-WWII military housing furniture. The drawer front was solid 1.5" thick, the drawer sides 1/4" solid mahogany, and the bottom of the drawer was 1/4" 3-ply mahogany veneer over solid mahogany core plywood.
The frets are smoothed nails glued into saw kerfs; tuners are autoharp pins. That's a 24" VSL.
