Tuning Peg Choices

I am interested in using Banjo (or viola) Style Tuning Pegs on my new dulcimer builds and I am wondering if these  Grover pegs would work well on a dulcimer?

Currently I am using these Five Star Geared Tuning Pegs which work fabulously, but are very costly.

(I had read somewhere that friction pegs might be better on nylon strings.)

I would really appreciate any suggestions!
