Dulcimer case
I just finished this case. It is for the first dulcimer I made. I have to make a couple more definitely use the lessons learned from this one on the next. This is made from Eastern Red Cedar. I built a box mitered corners with dovetail splines, then cut the top off, made the handle from maple and cedar. That was the easy part. The foam and covering it was a definite education. I used open cell upholstery foam bought from a local shop. Covered the foam with fleece from fabric shop. I wanted to use crushed velvet but the price and not knowing how I was going to cover things scared me off. They didn't have any black flannel so went with the fleece. I am not real happy with the fabric work but next time will be much better.
