Heavy metal dulcimer - War Pigs

Black Sabbath's 1970 classic, "War Pigs," on solo electric dulcimer.

Chromatic, stereo electric dulcimer built by Rod Matheson tuned DAD, played in E major. To get that gentle, loving, full-throated heavy metal effect: Channel A has a wah-wah pedal followed by two overdrives. Channel B has an octave doubler and distortion. There are a couple of other pedals tweaking the tone, and I add some reverb at the amp.
